Ritualist Items Spells
Hey I wanted to know if you use an item spell and it expires, does the effect happen? (In other words if you hold the item for its full length.)
Thanks in advance. |

Yes, the end effect still happens if you hold the item for the full duration of the spell. The "Drop Item" button is only there so that you can end the spell early if you need the end effect sooner than the spell's own duration. The end effect of the spell also happens if you die while holding the item (causing the item to be dropped).

Are you sure Toutatis? I have had this complaint a number of times when playing my rit that if I don't actually "drop" the bundle, I don't get the effect. I have seen it not happen many times before.
Also note that if you don't actually "drop" the bundle, the text in chat saying that you dropped it doesn't appear. |

So what about that item resurrect spell?
I heard there is an item resurrect that will actually res the caster if he/she is killed with the item in hand (thus causing it to drop and res him/her). Ok, I guess that has nothing much to do with letting it run its duration, but I suppose that if it is held for full duration that it won't res anyone when it drops. |

I think dying does cause the item to drop just as if you shadow stepped while holding an item. Both of these things cause the item to drop as it would interrupt your physical ability to hold the item. Just letting a spells duration elapse wouldn't be the same.
